In the week beginning 29th January Year 4 had their amazing residential at The BrigHouse. Although it was cold, damp but sunny, a brilliant time was had by all, especially playing games in the woods and getting really muddy! We are studying rocks and fossils and the trip included a fantastic day out at The Mining Museum at Matlock Bath. Here we went into the mine, panned for gold and then spent the afternoon inside the museum.
We also went to Merevale Church and had a treasure hunt exploring both inside the church and the graveyard, learning lots of legends and stories of the area. We went to Abbey Farm and saw the remains of Merevale Abbey. As well as lots of fun playing both inside and outside, we had midnight walks, bonfires and even learnt about birds of prey from Rebecca at Hawkwise.
