Audley Year 3 visited The Brighouse and have experienced the British countryside.
During Forest School sessions, pupils have lit fires, created a pixie village and learnt about the trees and woodland. They loved playing games like ‘Dragon’s Nest’ and ‘Hide & Seek’.

‘Forest Bathing’ was a delightful activity that helped children connect with nature and address their misconceptions of nature. Pupils also made bracelets and used tools to make holes in conkers.

Pupils had a wonderful time preparing and cooking healthy meals back at The Brighouse. Recipes were healthy and very tasty. Pupils learnt how to use kitchen tools safely.

Pupils carrying out geography fieldwork and outdoor science experiments. How tall is a tree? What geographical features should be shown on a map? How can you tell an oak from an ash? Our pupils can now answer these questions!

We went on a what3words walk through along Waste Lane and into Grendon Wood.

We conducted an ‘owl prowl’ with the BTO and relaxed around a campfire back at The Brighouse.

Children were encouraged to be independent and work as part of a team. Lots of opportunity was given for children to speak as well as listen to each other.

We are very proud of the children for making this such a memorable experience for each other.
